By downloading, installing, and using Canvas HW Reminder (the "App"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms") and acknowledge that the App is provided independently of Canvas LMS and Instructure. If you do not agree with these Terms, do not use the App.

Canvas HW Reminder runs in the background of your computer to help monitor upcoming homework assignments on Canvas LMS. It will notify you via desktop notifications when an assignment is due soon, with a link to the corresponding Canvas page for further details.

3. User Responsibilities

3.1 Canvas LMS Independence:

This App is not affiliated, associated, authorized, endorsed by, or in any way officially connected with Canvas LMS or Instructure.

3.2 No Sharing of Access Credentials:

Users are required to keep their Canvas Access Token and other credentials private and secure. Sharing account credentials or impersonating others is strictly prohibited.

3.3 User Accountability:

Canvas HW Reminder is designed to assist users in tracking assignments; it does not replace the user’s responsibility to check for assignments directly on Canvas LMS.

4. Data Collection and Storage

4.1 Locally Stored Data:

Canvas HW Reminder does not collect or transmit user information. The App only stores the following locally on your device:

  • Canvas URL and Access Token: Stored securely.
  • User Preferences: Stored locally but not secured with encryption.

    • 4.2 Third-Party Integrations:

    The App uses the Canvas LMS API to retrieve assignment details. No data is shared with external parties beyond this integration.

    5. No Data Sharing

    Canvas HW Reminder does not share any user data with third parties. All data is stored locally and securely on your device, as described in Section 4.

    6. Age Requirement

    There is no age restriction for using Canvas HW Reminder.

    7. Limitations of Liability

    Canvas HW Reminder is provided as an aid for tracking assignments. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of notifications. Users are encouraged to verify assignments directly on Canvas LMS.

    8. Termination of Use

    Canvas HW Reminder reserves the right to terminate access to the App if there is a breach of these Terms, such as sharing credentials or impersonating others.

    9. Changes to the Terms

    Canvas HW Reminder may modify these Terms occasionally to reflect legal requirements or app updates. We will notify users of significant changes, and continued use of the App constitutes acceptance of any updated Terms.
